Splash Internet FAULT RESOLVED (29/11/2018, 3 Pm)

The issue that was causing disruptions for 1-2 minutes every 15-30 minutes today has now been rectified at approx 3pm this afternoon . We have been monitoring closely to ensure it hasn't re-occurred prior to advising customers of this.
We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences this has caused, this is not something we take lightly and can understand customers frustrations when experiencing this.
The interruptions today were unplanned and was caused in part by system upgrades we implemented overnight which are very near completion.
The main work on this upgrade project is being completed between 11:30 pm and 6:00 am to minimise interruptions to customers.
We will leave you on our list to follow up after 48 hours and make sure that you are no longer experiencing any issues. Please use the internet as you would normally, if you are still experiencing issues please respond to this email which will add it to your support ticket for a technician to look at.

Once the upgrades have been completed in their entirety, we will again notify you as there should be no issues past that. If you are still experiencing issues past the network upgrades completion you may have an issue at your connection end and we would need to investigate this further for you.

Should you wish discuss any concerns you may have please email or call us and one of our staff members will happily assist you with this.

Splash Internet disruption (29/11/2018, 10 am)

Some customers are experiencing a 1-2 minute disruption to their connection every 15-30 minutes approx.

We do apologise for the inconvenience and realise that it is very disruptive and are working to have it fixed as soon as is physically possible.

We are currently in the process of performing major infrastructure upgrades in our core network. These upgrades will see increased capacity to large parts of our network. Whilst these upgrades are happening some customers may notice slower than normal speeds. We are aiming to have these upgrades completed within the coming weeks.

As a result of work being carried out on the above upgrades project there was an unplanned outage/disruption to large parts of our network on Tuesday the 20th November between approx. 6am – 12:45pm that day.

We also identified a DNS resolving issues affecting some customers causing web pages to load slowly or not at all over the past couple of days. A fix was applied this morning for this to the affected customers

Please be assured we are working to have the above project completed ASAP for the benefit of our customers.

We have had some setbacks in this and we do sincerely apologise for any inconveniences this caused you. This has been a major project we have undertaken and been working on for the past couple of months.

We will post updates of the upgrades project on our website. We will also post on our Facebook page advising when the upgrades have been completed.

Splash Internet and the NBN Rollout FAQs

The National Broadband Network (NBN) rollout in the Bega Valley Shire has been happening for a while. Now that the rollout is nearing completion, you are probably wondering how it is going to affect your Internet service with Splash Internet? Below is a brief outline of how our services work.

Internet Services

Splash Internet will continue to operate independently of the NBN. Our services do not rely on any phone line connections. We install fixed-point wireless dedicated equipment at the client’s location (an antenna). The antenna is aimed at one of our base stations. Radio waves then travel through the air, allowing you to access high speed internet.

Splash Internet is a local company that has built up its own infrastructure over the last 10 years, so we do not rely on any of the NBN infrastructure. We cross-connect directly with the larger carriers in the regional POP (Point Of Presence). Our internet services are only available in the Bega Valley Shire, and we will continue to maintain and build on that infrastructure on an ongoing basis.

When the NBN is finally rolled out, you will not need to move across to it (as reported by some radio, television and print agencies). Splash Internet provides a unique service in Australia as we have independent, fixed-point wireless infrastructure already in place. With only a few other companies nationwide who have built their own infrastructure independent of the NBN, we are fast becoming one of the largest networks providing this type of service. In summary your internet connection with Splash will remain as it is, you do not have to do anything.

Please be assured that we will also work as best we can with the NBN. We will be monitoring the roll out to see if we can use the NBN in a positive way in the future. We are consistently upgrading and expanding our network to ensure that we are providing the best possible services to our customers. If we want the best for ourselves then you deserve it too!

VOIP Telephone Services

If Splash does provide your business with VOIP services, nothing will change with the roll out of the NBN.
